Chemicals
Chemicals are a fundamental ingredient for modern life, used to make a multitude of consumer goods - from games consoles to super computers; toys to construction materials; and from cars to the fuel that powers them.
The Chemical Industries Association (CIA) and its members participate in the voluntary Responsible Care Programme. Many of the products produced by the chemical industry contribute directly to reduced carbon emissions. For example, the carbon footprint of producing certain insulation materials is approximately 230 times less than the amount the product saves through reducing energy consumption in buildings and homes.
