Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
HVAC systems are used to provide fresh filtered air, heating, cooling and humidity control in buildings and invariably have a considerable impact on energy use. Most offer significant opportunities for energy savings. Some measures - such as matching time schedules to building occupancy, re-setting temperature set points and maximising the use of free cooling – will deliver substantial savings with little or no investment. Excessive energy consumption can also be avoided if systems are properly maintained – all too often we find broken damper linkages, dirty filters and damaged fan belts.

Other opportunities include changing to high efficiency fans and motors, retrofitting variable speed drives (VSDs) to control ventilation rates and the use of low carbon heating / cooling sources.
With rising energy costs and the introduction of ever more demanding legislation, energyexcel can show you how to reduce energy use on HVAC systems whilst maintaining the desired environmental conditions
