Racing Green
energyexcel is proud to have supported the Racing Green Endurance Team in their quest to prove that electric cars can be both exciting and inspiring. The SRZero, developed by a top class team of engineers from Imperial College in conjunction with Radical Sports Car, has successfully finished an epic journey down the World's Longest Road, the Pan American Highway. From Fairbanks in Alaska all the way to Ushuaia in Argentina, this 26,000km adventure was completed with just 70 days of driving in an open top sports car running entirely on electric power. The team weathered extreme conditions from tropical storms to deserts to achieve this amazing feat of endurance.

"The team set out to change the perception of electric cars by demonstrating that they can be fast, robust and extremely fun to drive. In doing so we wanted to show that sustainable technology doesn't have to mean compromise, that it can mean a better solution. We took on the Pan-American Highway because it provided the biggest challenge we could think of for an EV to prove it's worth.
The car has an efficiency of 97% at highway cruising speeds, because of this innovative use of energy, we were able to achieve a range of over 500km on one charge, all for just $5! This focus on delivering energy effectively and efficiently was one of the core reasons behind the success of the project. It is a philosophy shared with energyexcel who are constantly exploring new ways to save energy and money for businesses across a broad range of industries and sustainable technologies.
energyexcel were one of the first sponsors of the project, and came on board before we had even finished designing the car. They were one of the companies that saw the potential of the team to achieve something big. They backed us all the way and had vision to invest in young engineers trying to push the boundaries of clean technology."
